The Cottage Market Drogheda opened the doors of St Peter’s Church of Ireland Parish Hall, Peter Street on March 12th and welcomed 24 local producers to set up their stalls and showcase a fantastic array of homemade, home grown and handcrafted products with their community. It was a resounding success with both novice and experienced stall holders supporting each other throughout the day – so much so that just 24 hours after the market closed Eimear had 36 requests in for the April market!
Locals sent lots of good wishes and positive messages in advance of the market opening and groups such as Tidy Towns Drogheda took stalls because already they can see the positive contribution the market will make to the town and its community.
GIY Drogheda will be a regular stall at the market and members are looking forward to selling produce from members gardens alongside copies of GROW COOK EAT, (GIY’s fantastic Grow/Cook combo book), plants and seedlings. They are also on hand to answer growing questions and to encourage people interested in growing, regardless of experience, to join their group.
The Cottage Market Drogheda had the pleasure of its very own photographer for the day the very talented Chara Berk who spent the day clicking away and her photos really captured the true essence of the day.
